Latest from Washington-Six games into the season, and the Wizards are in total freefall. Washington is dead last in the NBA, allowing 125 points a game, and that was highlighted by the previous game, in which they allowed easy layups and allowing the Clippers to make 16 3-pointers in the blowout loss. Just when it can’t get any worse for the Wizards, despite not having center Dwight Howard, who is back in Washington practicing, and trying to recover from his back injury, they may not have forward Markieff Morris for the game against Memphis after taking an elbow to the face on Sunday night, and currently, he is in concussion protocol and is questionable for the game. This is the final game of this brutal five-game road trip, and the Wizards after this game will fly home to prepare for Friday night’s primetime game on ESPN against Russell Westbrook, Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder with tipoff set for 8 pm.

Latest from Memphis-The Grizzlies have won 3 of there previous 4 games, including a 21 point blowout at home against the Phoenix Suns. Memphis is led by point guard Mike Conley, who is averaging nearly 20 points and 6 assists per game. A player to watch, and who could have a big night is center Marc Gasol, who could take advantage of the Wizards poor rebounding, and add to his average of 9 rebounds per game. Memphis doesn’t score a lot, currently 28th in the league with a 103 ppg, but they are 2nd in the league allowing 101 ppg. Forward Chandler Parsons will not play due to a knee injury, and guard Dillon Brooks seems to be ready to go, even though is he battling right foot soreness.
