One great playoff game: And the bad Manny

It’s October 10, 1973. And frankly the Birds of Baltimore had their backs to the wall. Powerful Oakland (with Reggie Jackson) were up two games to one in a best of five AL championship series. And the clinching game for Oakland saw the A’s chase O’s ace Jim Palmer with a three-run third inning. Roy Fosse’s two-run double was the key blow. Vida Blue was breezing and this game was also breezing by. It was 4-0 heading to the Orioles seventh. We had nine outs to go and the season would be over. Reimold to start rehab at Bowie

200px-Baltimore_Orioles_left_fielder_Nolan_Reimold_(14)Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nolan Reimold has been assigned to double-A Bowie to start his rehab assignment.  Reimold has been recovering from a neck injury and has been slowly recovering.  Reimold is often forgot of because he has had so many injury problems.  At one time Reimold was considered one of the Orioles best hitting prospects.

Reimold’s rehab may be a long one because he has been out of baseball for nearly a year recovering.  However it was reported by Brittany Ghiroli that Reimold has a locker with the Orioles now, which may hint at a short rehab. Read more about Reimold to start rehab at Bowie

Machado to be suspended five games, plans to appeal

479px-Manny_Machado_8-10-2012The MLB plans to suspend Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado for five games, according to league source. Machado plans to appeal the suspension which means he will be able to play until the appeal process plays out. Typically during the appeal players get their suspensions reduced.

I predict that Machado’s suspension will be reduced to three games after the appeal. Remember Machado is being suspended for throwing his bat after being thrown to at the knees on back-to-back pitches. Machado simply lost his cool remember he is young.
