Caps Shattenkirk suspended two games

The newest Washington Capital Kevin Shattenkirk has been suspended for the next two games for charging.  Shattenkirk was penalitzed Saturday night for charging against the LA Kings.  No injuries occurred and Shattenkirk only received a minor penalty but he did leave his feet.  Shattenkirk leaped at Kings defenseman Kevin Gravel.

Ravens sign Levin Sr. cut Webb

The Baltimore Ravens have continued to make roster moves today, they signed Anthony Levin Sr. to a three-year contract.  The Ravens have also cut veteran safety Lardarius Webb but are open to his return.  Cutting Webb makes a lot of sense since it saves the Ravens $5.5 million in salary cap money.  Read the rest of this entry »

Ravens agree to terms with Williams

refer to captionThe Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with their most coveted free agent in nose tackle Brandon Williams.  The Ravens and Williams will have a five-year contract and that will reportedly make Williams one of if not the highest paid nose tackle in the league. Ravens sign Jefferson, Woodhead and Mallet

Ravens release Dumervil

refer to captionThe Baltimore Ravens have released outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil to free up some salary cap space.  Dumervil was set to have a high salary cap number but the Ravens are leaving the door open for Dumervil to return.  At 33 years old Dumervil has seen his production drop due to injuries.  Read the rest of this entry »

Ravens release Wright and Lewis

TImage result for shareece wrighthe Baltimore Ravens announced today that they have released defensive backs CB Shareece Wright and FS Kendrick Lewis.  Wright and Lewis were veteran defensive backs that struggled last season.

Lewis signed with the Ravens prior to the 2015 season and played in only six games last season for the Ravens.  Lewis finished the season on injured reserve and never recorded an interception for the Ravens.  Lewis is a good tackler but lost his position when the Ravens signed Eric Weddle. Redskins Management Turmoil?

A multitude of reports have surfaced over recent days regarding the status of Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan.  Anthony Broome with, has reported that now McCloughan’s wife has entered the fray and is vehemently refuting the rumors that McCloughan was sent home from Redskins Park several days ago.  No matter the cause, these rumors have brought back flashbacks of previous dysfunction at the highest levels of the Redskins organization.

Shattenkirk addition to Caps adds pressure

Image result for kevin shattenkirkThe Washington Capitals acquired puck moving defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and goalie Phoenix Copley from the St. Louis Blues Monday night in a move that sends a clear message to the NHL that the Caps are all in for the Stanley Cup push.  The Capitals sent promising prospect Zach Sanford, Brad Malone, a 2017 first round pick, and a conditional pick to the Blues.   Read the rest of this entry »

Ravens Strong in Preseason Opener


Preseason is all about evaluation and looking to see where a football team currently stands as a collective unit. The Ravens made a solid case last night in a 23-3 victory over the 49ers that all is left to do is to fit a few more pieces into the right place. In a game where the starting units were given limited shifts but dominate nonetheless many of the players that were going to be given a close look delivered.
