Ovechkin’s historic start to the 2017 season, plus highlights
The Washington Capitals Captain Alex Ovechkin has seven goals in his first two games. Ovechkin had a hat trick in the Caps first game and your goals against the Montreal Canadians.

As the video shows Ovechkin scores in several different ways. Last night, Ovie scored two top shelf shots, a deflection, and by taking the puck hard to the net. This shower that even 12 years in the NHL Ovie is still an electric player.
The Caps are starting the season with two wins and zero losses. The Caps had a statement home opener beating the Canadians six to one. Ovechkin is also a plus six along with his seven goals.
Ovechkin is the first player since 1917 to start the season with back to back hat tricks to start the season. If Ovie has another hat trick he will be over ten goals in three games. There are a lot of stats and history to go along with Ovie’s hot start.
The Caps have had a questionable preseason but have sure come out of the gate strong. Most of that is thanks to Ovechkin. Ovechkin is starting his 12th NHL season, all with the Caps.
Ovechkin looks healthy and fully recovered from the leg injury that he had in the Stanley Cup playoffs last season. The Caps would love to see Ovie keep playing at this historic pace.
