Ovechkin Looking to Win Hardest Shot for First Time

Alex Ovechkin is looking to win the hardest shot contest in tonight’s all star game. He is one of the favorites to win this year without the competition of last years winner Shea Weber “102 mph” and current record holder Zedeno Chara 108 mph” not making the all star.

Ovechkin last year shot a best of 97.8 mph and will compete against John Klingberg, P.K. Subban, Brent Burns and Steven Stamkos.

Last year the only other shooter who shot harder than Ovechkin was Patrick Laine who registered a shot at 101 mph will also not be in this event. Ovechkin’s best attempt in this event was in 2015 with a shot of 101.8 mph.
