O’s make 4 roster moves before series in Seattle

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said there would be roster moves, and he did not lie.

Today the Orioles made four different roster moves to prepare for their series against the Seattle Mariners.

Firstly, the Orioles have reinstated OF Dwight Smith Jr. from the injured list.

After crashing into the left field wall at Glove Life Park in Arlington, Smith Jr. was put on the seven-day concussion protocol list. After those seven days, Smith Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list to fully recover from his injuries.

The Orioles have also designated RHP Dan Straily for assignment.

Straily has struggled with the Orioles this season, posting a 2-4 record with a 9.82 ERA in 14 games between the starting rotation and the bullpen.

The team has also placed LHP John Means on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder strain.

Lastly, the Orioles have recalled RHP Evan Phillips from Triple-A Norfolk to join the bullpen in Seattle.
