O’s begin series in Tampa, Eshelman to make major league debut: Lineup and game preview 7/1/19

The Baltimore Orioles begin a six-game road trip tonight, starting against the division rival Tampa Bay Rays.

Coming off a three-game home series against the Indians, where the O’s outscored Cleveland 26-2, the team tries to keep their hot bats alive against the Rays.

Pitching tonight for the Orioles and making his major league debut will be RHP Tom Eshelman (0-0, 0.00 ERA). The Rays will send Ryne Stanek (0-1, 2.76 ERA).

Eshelman was acquired by the Orioles June 9, from Philadelphia in exchange for international signing bonus money. Since joining the Norfolk Tides, Eshelman went 1-1, holding a 4.05 ERA in three games.

In other news, the Orioles have made yet another roster move, acquiring the familiar RHP Asher Wojciechowski, who was in the organization last season. Wojciechowski will likely start tomorrow night for the Birds, after Dylan Bundy was scratched from his scheduled start.
