Orioles Transactions 5/30/18
The Baltimore Orioles made two moves today.
Donnie Hart joining club. Valencia on paternity leave #orioles

The Orioles decided that they needed a young arm rather than another off the bench, so our old friend Donnie Hart returns from AAA to save the Orioles.
The former 27th rounder has pitched to a 3.05 ERA in 20.2 innings as a left-handed reliever with the Norfolk Tides. In 4.2 Innings as a Major Leaguer this season he has a 1.93 ERA. In 2017 he had a 3.71 ERA in 43.2 innings.
Danny Valencia had a son today, so he will be missing from the lineup and bench for a few days (the happy parents named their son Oliver). In 34 games this season the 33-year-old has a line of .279/.339/.471 with five homeruns. He is a masher against lefties and has done well in that spot. With the return of Steve Wilkerson imminent, Valencia’s lack of defense may make him expendable.
#orioles will bump OF Cedric Mullins from AA Bowie to AAA Norfolk. Soon

Cedric Mullens was recently named Eastern League player of the week after a week of batting .560 and three steals. Mullens is the future center fielder for the Orioles and it should not be long before Orioles fans are clamoring for him. He can hit for average, has power, solid speed, and is a plus defender.
