Orioles trade Yastrzemski to Giants for Herb
The Baltimore Orioles made another roster move, as they trade outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for right-hander Tyler Herb.
The Orioles drafted Yastrzemski in the 14th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He is famously known for his last name and Hall of Fame grandfather Carl Yastrzemski.
The 28-year old outfielder has spent five seasons with Baltimore, all in the minor leagues. He is a career .259/.337/.426 hitter and was only hitting .167 in 19 plate appearances this spring with Baltimore.
Tyler Herb is a 26-year old right-hander who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 29th round of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Herb has a career 4.14 ERA in 5 seasons, all in the minor leagues. He had a 3-9 record last season with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats with a 5.40 ERA in 17 games. Herb has only pitched in one game this spring for the Giants, in which he threw one scoreless inning of relief.
