Orioles Trade RHP Stefan Crichton to Diamondbacks
Right-handed pitcher Stefan Crichton has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Crichton was designated for assignment Thursday to create space on the 40-man roster for Danny Valencia, Pedro Álvarez, Craig Gentry, and Colby Rasmus.
Crichton made his major league debut with the Orioles in 2017, and appeared in eight games while logging 12.1 innings of work. In his eight appearances, Crichton allowed 11 runs on 26 hits with an 8.03 ERA.
Crichton will be optioned to Triple-A Reno with the Diamondbacks.
