Orioles take both games against Mets

The Baltimore Orioles scored three total runs in two games but surprisingly that was just enough to win both games at Citi Field. Orioles pitching carried them to a two-game sweep of the Mets.

Orioles- 2 vs Mets- 1

Alex Cobb delivers his best performance yet for the Orioles. Since signing a contract with Baltimore late in spring training, Cobb hasn’t found his groove but that looks to have changed. Cobb threw 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 K, and 1 BB. Orioles offense started quickly in New York, Machado singled to center to score Mancini, then Valencia hit a sacrifice fly to left and give the Orioles a 2-0 lead. Thats all the Orioles needed to pull out a win for Cobb and Brad Brach got his ninth save of the season.

Orioles- 1 vs Mets-0

Once again the Orioles pitching was great but the offense did just enough to pull out a win. Dylan Bundy dominated the Mets bats, limiting them over 7 IP, 0 ER, 5 K, 3 BB, and 3 hits total. Just as Tuesday’s game ended, Brad Brach picked up save number ten.

Orioles offense struggled again, adding just five hits throughout the game. After Alverez reached on an infield hit in the top of the eight, later pinched ran for Craig Gentry stole second. Adam Jones then ripped a single to left to advance Gentry to third. Then Manny Machado hit a deep fly to knock in Gentry on a sacrifice fly and Orioles lead 1-0.
