Orioles Stay Hot in Game Two

The Baltimore Orioles took the second game against the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of five to four. What attributed to the win was the Orioles’ outstanding defensive plays to field double play balls. Unfortunately, the Phillies struck first in the bottom of the second inning. They would lead one to nothing until the top of the third inning when the Orioles got up to bat.

Anthony Santander smacked a home run off of the foul pole to even the game at one a piece. Subsequently, the Phillies would score two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. These came as a single from J.T. Realmuto to plate one and a Didi Gregorius sacrifice fly ball to plate another. The Phillies would lead three to one after three innings.

The Orioles collected themselves in the top of the fourth inning as Chance Sisco came up clutch with two outs to score Renato Nunez and Dwight Smith Jr. to tie the game at three. The Orioles would push in to the lead in the top of the fifth inning with a Rio Ruiz home run to make it a four to three ball game.

Furthermore, in the top of the seventh inning Sisco came in to the batter’s box and destroyed a ball to right field to give the Orioles a five to three lead heading in to the bottom of the seventh.

The eighth inning only saw the Phillies come within one run when Andrew Knapp singled to bring in a run. This made the game five to four, to which it would eventually become the final score.

The Orioles rode their hot bats to a fourth straight win to score five runs on eleven hits with one error. They look to improve on their winning streak tomorrow evening for the final game in the series.
