Orioles shut out by the Rays, 5/3 recap

The Baltimore Orioles dropped the first game of a three game series to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, 7-0. The starting pitcher for the Rays, Tyler Glasnow tossed a gem before exiting the game after the seventh inning. Glasnow lowered his ERA to 1.45 with the shutout. The three Rays pitchers combined to strike out 10 Oriole batters.

The Orioles managed only five hits on the night, all of them singles. Dwight Smith, Jr. lead the team collecting two of the hits. On the mound Dan Straily continued to struggle, allowing five runs in 4.1 innings. He was relieved by Yefry Ramirez who gave up two runs in 4.2 innings pitched.

Tomorrow night the Orioles send Dylan Bundy to the mound. Bundy has struggled on the season, bringing a 6.67 ERA into the game in six starts. They will face Ryan Stanek. Stanek has started eight games and sports a 2.81 ERA. First pitch is 7:05.
