Orioles promote top prospects Henderson and Westburg
The Baltimore Orioles have promoted top prospects Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg from AA Bowie to AAA Norfolk, the Orioles announced today. Henderson could be knocking on the Orioles door, or batting it in if he gets off to a hot start at AAA. Henderson and Westburg play the infield and multiple infield positions.
Henderson is the Orioles number three prospect and Westburg is the Orioles number six prospects. Henderson has hit better than Westburg this season but both are young and provide power from the infield positions.
For Henderson this may be an unnecessary promotion, AAA is littered with AAAA reserve Major Leaguers starting unlike AA that has more top prospect talent. Henderson and Westburg will be playing against a lot of players that have legit MLB experience.
Here are the stats for Henderson and Westburg, clearly they deserved the promotion, hopefully they will both be in Baltimore soon.
