Orioles need to send Gonzalez to the pen

The Baltimore Orioles had yet another short outing by Miguel Gonzalez today, he only managed to go 4.2 innings.  Gonzalez has struggled with his consistency and not been aggressive this season.  Gonzalez being timid has caused him to throw a lot of balls and he is walking way too many batters.

Gonzalez is a good pitcher but has struggled to stay healthy and the Orioles know he needs more rest than other starting pitchers.  Having a six-man rotation does not work, pitchers like Chris Tillman and Kevin Gausman are sharper when they pitch on regular rest.

I have been saying this for a while now and on multiple post but Gausman should replace Gonzalez in the rotation, Gausman is more than ready.

I think Gonzalez would be effective out of the bullpen.  Gonzalez would be a very good long man in the pen because he can give a solid three to four innings.

The Orioles have some bullpen pitchers that Gonzalez could replace, Evan Meek has been up and down and has an era of 7.47 era.

The Orioles need to make the change sooner rather than later.  I like a rotation of Chris Tillman,  Bud Norris, Wei-Yin Chen, Ubaldo Jimenez and Kevin Gausman.
