Orioles need to find a way to give Young and Pearce more at bats

The Baltimore Orioles lineup has some holes but when it comes to power hitting outfielders and designated hitters they are not lacking.  Nelson Cruz, Steve Pearce and Delmon Young are all basically the same player.   No doubt that Cruz is the best of the bunch.

Pearce and Young are both average to below average defensively and good hitters.  Young is a better all around hitter and has a much better track record than Pearce but Pearce has been clutch and on fire all season.  I think Young is a better player overall and covers more of the plate hitting.  Pearce does not have a good track record and seems to just be locked in.  Pearce is a decent first baseman which is something Young and Cruz are not.

When I mean locked in for Pearce he has six doubles and four home runs and is batting .315. Yet Pearce is on the bench for most games.

Buck Showalter likes to use the DH position to rest players and for Cruz.  I think Cruz should play a little more outfield so Young and Pearce can get their at bats or have Young or Pearce in the outfield.

The fact is Young and Pearce are both hitting over or around .300 and have hit six home runs total in very limited action.   Both have been clutch in pinch hitting situations.

It seems like whenever Young or Pearce are called upon they have a quality at bat.  I used to hate on Pearce in the past but right now both players need to be in the lineup or at least pinch hit once a game.
