Orioles Minor Leaguer of the Week: Adrian Marin

Frederick Keys shortstop Adrian Marin enjoyed a very successful week with the single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The 20-year-old went 9 for 21 (.429) with 1 run, 7 doubles, 1 HR, and 11 RBIs.

Marin, a former third round pick in 2012, was considered as the Orioles #10 ranked prospect after the 2012 season by Baseball America, and the #12 ranked Orioles prospect following the 2013 season. The Miami native was also chosen by Baseball America as the organization’s top minor league defensive infielder prior to the 2013 season.

The Gulliver Prep grad might repeat the defensive award again after this season, as Marin has improved his fielding percentage (.964), range factor (4.62), and is also on pace to record fewer errors than he did last season at Delmarva.

The slick-fielding Marin is hitting .257 with 16 runs, 11 doubles, 19 RBIs and 7 stolen bases in 47 games so far on the season for the Keys.
