Orioles drop game one to the Blue Jays 11-2 Recap: 8/1/19
The Orioles offense was quiet in this first of three games, as the Blue Jays offense stormed away with an 11-2 victory.
Asher Wojciechowski couldn’t get the job done today, as he gave up four runs off six hits in 4.2 innings.
The Blue Jays went ahead 2-0 in the third following a two run home run off the bat of Vlad Guerrero Jr.
Asher Wojciechowski would give up two more runs, a single in the fourth and a home run in the fifth, leaving the game with a score of 4-0 in the Blue Jays favor.
The Orioles got one run back in the fifth, off a ground ball out by Jonathan Villar. This scored Hanser Alberto and made it a 4-1 game.
The Blue Jays would break it open in the sixth, going up 8-1. Danny Jansen hit a three run shot followed by a RBI double by Vlad Guerrero Jr.
In the eighth, Trey Mancini would blast his career high twenty fifth home run, cutting the lead to 8-2.
In the ninth, the Blue Jays added two more runs on another two run homer. This made it the final score of 11-2.
The Orioles couldn’t hold onto their momentum from the road trip, and drop game one of this series. Asher Wojciechowski moves to 2-4 with this loss.
