Orioles Drop Double Header Against Marlins

It was a rough night for the Baltimore Orioles as they go on to lose both games of the double header against the Miami Marlins. There was not a lot of scoring for either team in the first game. The Marlins won the first game with a Brian Anderson home run to right field to eventually seal the game at one to nothing.

Alex Cobb started for the Orioles in the first game and was credited with the loss. However, a positive take away from this is that Cobb pitched lights out up until the home run was given up.

Immediately after the first seven innings were over, the second game was under way. The Marlins started scoring in bottom of the first when Jesus Aguilar hit a RBI sacrifice fly ball to bring in Jonahan Villar to make it a one to nothing ball game. Proceeding that, in the same inning Brian Anderson singles to score Jon Berti, thus pushing the lead to two to nothing.

The Orioles looked like they were going to mount a comeback in this seven inning game when Austin Hays singles to bring in Anthony Santander. This cut the lead to two to one. Soon after, this would become the final score.

The Orioles still sit in second place with four games back behind the Yankees in the American League East. The Orioles will play the Washington Nationals on Friday evening at Nationals Park.
