Orioles Dillon Tate to represent team USA in World Baseball Classic

Baltimore Orioles reliever Dillon Tate will represent team USA in the World Baseball Classic this spring. Tate is coming off the best season of his young career posting a 3.05 era in a team high 67 games pitched.

Tate established himself early in the season as a late high leverage reliever. The Orioles originally acquired Tate in the Zack Britton trade in 2017. Tate has always had good stuff but health issues early in his career forced him into the bullpen.

Tate will join a talented team USA team and will face teammate Dean Kremer who will be representing team Israel. The Orioles will likely have more representatives as the teams are announced.

The World Baseball Classic has essentially become the Olympics of baseball every since Major Leaguers have not participated in the tournament. The best of the best from each country faces off and each tournament has been better.
