Orioles designate Araujo; call up Wotherspoon

Today the Baltimore Orioles made their first, of what seems to be many more to come, roster move of the season.

Rule-5 Draft pick, Pedro Araujo, has officially been designated for assignment, just a week before his Rule-5 requirements would end. Araujo only pitched in one game for the Orioles this season, and it was not pretty. He went two-thirds of an inning, giving up two earned runs on two hits with a walk.

Along with this move, the Orioles have officially called up 27-year-old right hander, Matt Wotherspoon, from Triple-A Norfolk. Wotherspoon will wear number 71 with the club, and will make his major league debut once he takes the mound.
