Orioles Come Together To Destroy the Braves to End Losing Streak

The Baltimore Orioles were on fire in their fourteen to one win over the Atlanta Braves tonight.

The Orioles did not relinquish their lead after scoring first in the bottom of the first inning by getting on the board with a single run that inning.

The third inning was where the Orioles really started to pull away. DJ Stewart hit a three run home run to push the lead to four to one. Immediately after, Ryan Mountcastle hit a solo home run. Cedric Mullins singled to bring in a run soon after the Mountcastle home run. Jose Iglesias wanted to get his name in the score book when he hit a two run jack to end the third inning in style. All in all, the Orioles led ten to nothing after this inning came to an end.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Iglesias added on to the Orioles lead when he singled to score Austin Hays. Steward came to the plate with his hot bat to hit an RBI single. Then, Mountcastle singled to bring in Iglesias. At the end of the fifth, the Orioles were on top thirteen to zero.

Freddie Freeman just had to rain on the Orioles’ shutout by hitting a home run in the top of the sixth inning.

Mercifully, in the bottom of the seventh, Pat Valaika hit the last home run of the night which brought the score to a head at fourteen to one.

The Orioles are still on the outside looking in for that playoff spot. The Orioles look to stay hot tomorrow in game two against the Braves.
