Orioles CF Adam Jones To Recieve MLBPAA Heart and Hustle Award

Orioles Center Fielder, Adam Jones, will recieve the MLBPAA(Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association) Heart and Hustle Award prior to Wednesday, August 15th’s contest against the New York Mets. According to MLB’s websiteb, the award “is voted on by alumni players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit, and tradition of the game.”

Jones has received the award several times, to be precise, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and now, 2018, he will be presented with the award by Mike Bordick, an Orioles Hall of Famer and MASN brodcaster, all according to the MLB’s website. Moreover, Jones has batted .283, has launched 12 home runs, driven in 47 runners(counted as RBI’s), and has hit for a OBP of .313, all according to Pro Baseball Reference. Overall, Jones has shown leadership and courage to an Orioles team that has traded away their star players and begun the first phases of rebuilding.

Next, the Orioles will take on the New York Mets on August 14th, 2018. The pitching matchup is scheduled to be RHP Andrew Cashner(3-10, 4.83 ERA) facing off against LHP Jason Vargas(2-8, 8.75 ERA).
