The Baltimore Orioles opened their final June series with a blowout home victory against the Cleveland Indians.

The O’s scored eight runs by the second inning and won the game 13–0.  The 13-run performance is the highest scoring game for Baltimore this season.

The Oriole batters got things started in the first inning, as Baltimore jumped out to a 4–0 lead. Chance Sisco hit a 411-foot two-run home run that reached Eutaw Street. Later in the inning, Hanser Alberto scored Rio Ruiz and Anthony Santander off an RBI double to left.

Baltimore stayed hot in the second inning, as Dwight Smith Jr. scored Stevie Wilkerson on a sacrifice fly. Sisco continued the rally with an RBI-single that scored Jonathan Villar to give the Orioles a 6–0 lead.

Later in the second inning, Santander hit a 427-foot home run to center field that scored Sisco. Baltimore established an 8–0 lead after two innings and never looked back.

John Means started on the mound for the Orioles and was excellent in his five innings. Means got enough run support, that Brandon Hyde was able to pull him by the end of the fifth inning.

The 26-year-old allowed no runs off one hit through five innings and struck out five batters. The left-hander improves to 7–4 on the season.

No runs were scored after the second inning, until Rio Ruiz scored Trey Mancini in the seventh inning to add some additional run support and take a 9–0 lead.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Sisco was back at it and hit a ground-rule double to score Wilkerson and Villar with two outs left in the inning. Sisco was 3-for-5 from the plate and scored five RBI on the night.

Santander put the icing on the cake, with a two-RBI double that scored Sisco and Smith Jr. The Orioles took a 13-0 lead at this point and secured their highest scoring game of the season.

Baltimore finished the game with a dominant 13–0 score line and defeated the Indians in game one of the series.

The MSB Players of the Game go to John Means and Chance Sisco. Means was nearly flawless on the mound, and Sisco scored five RBI and three runs off three hits.

This victory ends a three-game losing streak and improves Baltimore’s league-worst record at home to 10–30. The Orioles are now 23–58 on the season, as the July All-Star Break approaches.

The Orioles and Indians will play again at Camden Yards tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 p.m. ET.
