Baltimore Orioles agreed to terms with 28 players

With Opening day just 19 days away, the Baltimore Orioles made the move to re-sign 28 players to one-year contracts for the upcoming 2018 season. Some big name MLB guys that made the list include Dylan Bundy, Miguel Castro, Mychal Givens, Donnie Hart, Trey Mancini, Joey Rickard, and Chance Sisco.

Due to some break out years in 2017 the Orioles made sure to offer a one year contract to keep some young studs in the organization. The next move for the Orioles would be to offer Bundy, Givens, and Mancini multi-year contracts before the time is to late. This is often an issue for the Orioles, by waiting to long to offer a new contract to the young guys they end up feeling a level of disrespect and want to go play other places. A prime example of this is waiting for Manny Machado to be in the last year of his contract to try and discuss a multi year deal. Instead what the Orioles should have done was offer him a long term deal after his second knee injury in 2013. Not only is Machado an example but also his middle infielder mate Jonathan Schoop.
