Orioles activate Davis, option Clevenger

The Baltimore Orioles have activated Chris Davis from Paternity Leave and optioned Steve Clevenger.   The Orioles had three catchers on the team and will keep Caleb Joseph as their backup.

There is no question that Clevenger is a better hitter than Joseph.  Joseph’s defense has been outstanding and despite not hitting well the Orioles.

Clevenger hit well for the Orioles and brought some extra base hits to the Orioles.  Clevenger will likely be back at some point in the season.  Now the Orioles will likely have Nick Hundley as the starter until and if Matt Wieters returns.

Here is the Orioles press release.
