New Tag Team Champions Crowned
Moustache Mountain’s championship reign did not last long. After winning the titles less than a month ago at the special NXT UK event, Moustache Mountain once again faced off with The Undisputed Era, who capitalized upon their rematch. The match was an absolute war, and for a large part of it Trent Seven was beaten down. The match eventually ended when Seven’s partner Tyler Bate threw in the towel, after seeing Seven nearly pass out from the damage caused to his leg.
Shayna Baszler Draws Ire of NXT Women’s Division
At the beginning of the night, fans saw Candice LeRae attack Baszler, the current champion in a backstage confrontation. LeRae was not the only superstar to voice frustration, as Kairi Sane called out Baszler following her win later in the night. Following the show, NXT GM William Regal announced that there’d be a number one contender match next week, between LeRae, Sane, Nikki Cross, and Bianca Belair.
Tomasso Ciampa Sends Clear Message to Alestair Black
Alestair Black was initially scheduled to make an appearance during the show, most likely to discuss his upcoming match with Tomasso Ciampa. While on his way to the ring, Black was confronted by Johnny Gargano, who begged and pleaded with Black to win by any means necessary. Following the confrontation, Black was then attacked by Ciampa, who mercilessly beat the champion leaving him lifeless in the backstage area. The two are set for a championship match on July 25.
