Nicklas Backstrom to Play His 800 Career Game Tonight

Nicklas Backstrom is set to play in his 800 career game tonight against the Las Angeles Kings. He was drafted fourth over in 2006 and has been one of the best centers in the NHL.

During his career he has been very underrated producing 188 goals and 540 assist during his career, and only has one All-Star game appearance. Yesterday the NHLPA voted him the most underrated player in the league.

He has made two Olympic appearances for Team Sweden and was a member of Sweden’s World Cup of Hockey team. He was also a member of Sweden’s gold medal team in the World Championship last season.
