Navy Set to Face Virginia in 2017 Military Bowl

Earlier this afternoon, the bowl matchups for the 2017 College Football Season were announced, including the Military Bowl. The Navy Midshipmen will play in what is essentially a home game against ACC foe Virginia at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland on Thursday, December 28 at 1:30pm.

Navy went 6-5 this season (4-4 AAC), and still has one more game in the regular season against Army this coming Saturday. This is Navy’s 14th bowl game in the last 15 years. This is also Navy’s second appearance in the Military Bowl.

Virginia finished the year at 6-6 (3-5 ACC), and is playing in their first bowl game since 2011, and third since 2005.

This game presents a unique matchup between two teams who have seen their fair share of struggles this season. It also shows an interesting trend in the Military Bowl’s team selection, just one year after the bowl hosted 2016 AAC Conference Champion Temple.

We will continue to present coverage on this matchup as more information is released.
