Navy Men’s Lacrosse Now 5-1 in Patriot League Play with Win over Holy Cross

There are only three games left in the season, and the Navy Midshipmen are sitting in a three-way tie for first in Patriot League standings.

Today’s game hosting Holy Cross Crusaders, was uncertain from the very start. Holy Cross scored three goals within the first quarter (all from Kevin Kodzis). It was after Kodzis’s second goal (10:32) that Navy got on the board (6:27) with a pass from DJ Plumer (first assist of the season)to Christian Daniel.

In the second quarter, Navy’s defense held Holy Cross to seven shots, and zero goals. Meanwhile Navy’s offense shined, scoring twice on 11 shots (Ryan Wade to Casey Rees, and Greyson Torain unassisted).

The third quarter’s lone goal was from Holy Cross’s Justin Lynskey with the help from Logan LeBlond.

Navy wrapped up the game with two goals in the fourth; Torain to Rees, then Wade to Chris Hill.

Navy had three penalties; Ray Waddell with cross-checking, and offsides from Torain and David Jones – none of Holy Cross’s goals were while man-up.

Of the next three games left, two are Patriot League play; hosting Colgate on April 7, then heading north to West Point to take on the Army Black Knights on April 14.
