Navy Defeats Bryant, 83-79, Improving Record to .500
The Navy men’s basketball team defeated the Bryant Bulldogs, 83-79, Sunday afternoon at Alumni Hall. The victory improves the Midshipmen’s season record to 2-2, while Bryant drops to 1-3.
Navy held a 34-27 lead at halftime, extending the advantage to 11 points just minutes into the second half. Bryant answered by going on a 12-2 run, closing the deficit to one point with 16:26 left in the game. The Mids soon grabbed control of the game back, withstanding a final Bulldog run in the closing seconds to seal the victory.
Cam Davis’ 19 points led Navy’s scoring. George Kiernan added 14 and had eight assists. Danny Ogele contributed seven rebounds and 11 points to the Midshipmen’s second win of the young season.
Adam Grant led Bryant with 21 points. Joe Kasperzyk had 18 points and eight assists. Sabastian Townes had a nice game for the Bulldogs with 13 points.
