Navy Beats Georgetown 78-71

Cam Davis had 28 points as Navy (3-1) upset Georgetown (1-1) 78-71 at McDonough Arena in Washington. The senior guard was 10-15 from the floor and 5-7 from three point land. John Carter Jr. added 20 points and 8 rebounds for the Midshipmen.

It marks the first road win over a Big East member in 34 years. The last one was a win at Syracuse in the 1986 NCAA Tournament second round. David Robinson led that team to the elite 8. They beat Pittsburgh at home in 1996.

Georgetown had four players in double figures led by Jahvon Blair and Jamorko Pickett with 17 apiece. The Hoyas committed 13 turnovers which turned into 19 Navy points. Navy shot 50% from the floor as a team . A 17-8 run in the last 5:13 sealed the win for Navy.

Navy has played four games in seven days to open the season. Their only loss in that stretch was to Maryland last Friday. In that game Navy hung around until early in the second half when the Terps got some separation and eventually pulled away. Morgan State is the next opponent after the Midshipmen take two weeks off for final exams.
