Nationals score big over Dodgers 5-2

The Washington Nationals held off the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday evening in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 16-23. The Dodgers drop to 26-16.

Max Scherzer pitched a strong seven innings for Washington. He allowed five hits and seven strikeouts. Nationals closer, Sean Doolittle, came into the game and allowed no hits.

In the top of the eighth inning, left fielder Juan Soto singled to the left, shortstop Wilmer Difo scored, Robles to second, Michael A. Taylor to third.

In addition, first baseman, Gerardo Parra, hit a grand slam.

With the win over the Dodgers, the Nationals conclude the four-game series today at 4:05 pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
