Nationals score big over Braves 6-3

The Washington Nationals held off the Atlanta Braves on Monday evening in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 57-49. The Braves drop to 62-45.

Patrick Corbin pitched a very strong six innings for Washington. Corbin allowed five hits and eight strikeouts while pitching. Fernando Rodney allowed one hit and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the bottom of the first inning, left fielder Juan Soto singled to center, Eaton scored.

Additionally, in the bottom of the second, Trea Turner doubled to left, Yan Gomes scored.

Also, in the bottom of the sixth inning, third baseman Anthony Rendon homered to left (412 feet), catcher Yan Gomes scored, Adrian Sanchez scored and Adam Eaton scored.

With a win over the Braves, the Nationals play game two of the series tomorrow evening at 7:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Erick Fedde.
