Nationals roster moves and updates: 7/13/19
Over the All-Star Break, the Washington Nationals have made some quiet roster moves. Max Scherzer, who had been facing back stiffness for some time, will not start on Sunday as expected. Anibal Sanchez is scheduled to start in his place. Scherzer believes that this back injury is short-term and hopes to start Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
Max Scherzer played down any concern about his back after the game. He called returning Tuesday "realistic."

"This is not something to be overly concerned about. ... We're only a matter of days. This isn't a long-term injury."
Additionally, Jonny Venters was put on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain. This move is retroactive to July 8. Kyle McGowin has been called up from Double-A Harrisburg.
