Nationals release 2020 schedule

Today Major League Baseball has released the 2020 schedule for all 30 clubs. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, in which all teams will play. For the Washington Nationals, they will open the season against the New York Mets at Citi Field and then have their home opener against the Mets on April 2.

The Nationals will also face American League West teams, beginning with a two-game series against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. In May, the Nationals will also visit the Texas Rangers at the Rangers' new stadium, Globe Life Field. The Houston Astros will also visit Nationals Park for the Independence Day series, the first Astros-Nationals series in Washington since 2014. The interleague Battle of the Beltways series with the Baltimore Orioles is scheduled for August 8-9 and September 15-16.

September of 2020 will be spent with mostly division teams (save for the home games against the Orioles), which will undoubtedly mean critical games and determining points for division standings at the end of the season. The final series is to be a home stand against the Philadelphia Phillies from September 25 to September 27.
