Nationals Rally Falls Short In 7-6 Loss vs Cardinals

It was an exciting series for the Washington Nationals, but unfortunately it resulted in losing two out of three to the St Louis Cardinals.

The Cardinals jumper out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a three run home run by former National Matt Adams. St Louis would go on to double this lead at 6-0 before the Nationals finally got on the board with a double by Adam Eaton. The Cardinals responded with a home run by Yairo Munoz to increase the Nationals deficit to 7-1. Washington then stormed back to score the next five runs before being held scoreless for the final two innings in a 7-6 loss to the Cardinals in the rubber game of the series.

Nationals will conclude the homestand with a four game series against the Chicago Cubs this weekend.
