Nationals lose to Phillies 7-1

The Washington Nationals lost to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon in regular season action. The Nats’ record currently stands at 14-19. The Phillies’ move to 19-14.

Anibal Sanchez pitched a very strong four innings for Washington. Sanchez allowed two hits and nine strikeouts. Matt Grace allowed six hits and two strikeouts in relief.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. In the top of the fourth inning, Kurt Suzuki hit a solo home run to left center field to put the Nats on the board.

With a loss against the Phillies, the Nationals head to Milwaukee for a three-game series with the Brewers starting tomorrow at 7:40 pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Max Scherzer.
