Nationals lose to Padres 4-3,

The Washington Nationals lost to the San Diego Padres on Friday evening in regular season action. The Nats’ record currently stands at 11-14. The Padres move to 11-14.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed 4 hits and 10 strikeouts while pitching. Kyle Barraclough a relief pitcher struggled pitching allowing 1 hit and 0 strikeouts.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. Belting out home runs by Yan Gomes, Carter Kieboom. In the bottom of the fourth inning, catcher Yan Gomes homered to the center and Juan Soto scored. Making his MLB debut, shortstop Carter Kieboom homered his first home run of the season.

Tomorrow, the Nationals will play the second game of the series at Nationals Park. Pitching for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
