Nationals lose to Mets 5-3: Recap 5/20/19

The Washington Nationals lost to the New York Mets Monday night at Citi Field. The Nats record currently stands at 19-28. The Mets move to 21-25.

Patrick Corbin pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Corbin allowed 6 hits and 7 strikeouts while pitching. Tanner Rainey allowed 1 hit and 3 strikeouts in relief for Washington.

In the top of the fourth inning, Anthony Rendon homered to left center (390 feet).

In the top of the fourth inning, catcher Yan Gomes singled to center, Parra scored, Robles to second.

In addition, in the top of the eighth, Juan Soto singled to center, Anthony Rendon scored.

With a loss to the Mets, the Nationals play game two of the series tomorrow night at 7:10pm at Citi Field. Pitching for the Nationals will be Erik Fedde.
