Nationals lose to Cubs 14-6: Recap 5/17/19

The Washington Nationals lost to the Chicago Cubs Friday evening at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 18-26. The Cubs move to 26-16.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong six innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed six hits and eight strikeouts.

In the bottom of the third, third baseman Anthony Rendon homered to center, scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the seventh, Kurt Suzuki singled to left, scoring Juan Soto. Suzuki scored on a balk earlier in the game.

In the bottom of the ninth, second baseman Brian Dozier doubled to deep left, scoring Rendon and Suzuki.

With a loss to the Cubs, the Nats look for a win against them tomorrow night at 7:15pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
