Nationals Lineup and Preview: 7/27/19

After falling to the Dodgers in the first game of the series, the Washington Nationals will take on the aforementioned Los Angeles Dodgers at Nationals Park in the second game of the series. Yesterday, Washington was defeated mainly due to giving up a three-run home run to Justin Turner which would eventually lead to a Los Angeles victory.

Now, the Nationals hold a 55-48 record, while the Dodgers stand at 68-37, which is good enough for the best record in the National League.

The pitching matchup for today’s contest is scheduled to be LHP Matt Grace(0-2, 6.23 ERA) facing off against LHP Clayton Kershaw(8-2. 2.84 ERA). Interestingly enough, this will be the first time in franchise history that the Nationals will use the opener strategy, which is essentially using a relief pitcher to begin the game, instead of using a starting pitcher.

Moreover, here’s the lineup for today’s game:

The lineup goes as follows, SS: Trea Turner, RF: Adam Eaton, 3B: Anthony Rendon, LF: Juan Soto, 1B: Howie Kendrick, 2B: Brian Dozier, C: Yan Gomes, P: Matt Grace, and CF: Victor Robles.
