Nationals beat Marlins 8-5: 6/27/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins on Thursday evening at Marlins Park in regular season action. The Nationals record currently stands at 40-40. The Marlins drop to 30-49.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Strasburg allowed seven hits and four strikeouts while pitching. Sean Doolittle allowed one hit and zero strikeouts in relief for Washington.

In the top of the fourth inning, left fielder Juan Soto homered to left (387 feet).

At the top of the sixth inning, Matt Adams homered to right (389 feet), Turner scored and Rendon scored. Also, in the top of the sixth, Victor Robles homered to left (391 feet), Suzuki scored.

In addition to, in the top of the eighth, catcher Kurt Suzuki homered to left (395 feet).

Lastly, in the top of the ninth, right fielder Adam Eaton reached an infield single to second, shortstop Trea Turner scored.

With a series sweep over the Marlins, the Nationals head to Detroit to face the Tigers starting tonight at 7:10pm at Comerica Park. Pitching for the Nationals will be Anibal Sanchez.
