Nationals beat Marlins 6-1: 6/25/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins on Tuesday evening at Marlins Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 38-40. The Marlins drop to 30-47.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong eight innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed five hits and ten strikeouts while pitching. Fernando Rodney allowed zero hits and strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the top of the third inning, left fielder Juan Soto singled to right, Eaton scored and Scherzer scored, Rendon to third. Also, in the third inning, Howie Kendrick grounded into fielder’s choice to second, Rendon scored, Soto out at second.

At the top of the fourth inning, shortstop Trea Turner homered to left (418 feet), Robles scored and Scherzer scored.

With a win over the Marlins, the Nationals play game two of the series tomorrow night at 7:10pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Patrick Corbin.
