Nationals beat Giants 4-0; recap 8/5/19

The Washington Nationals beat the San Francisco Giants Monday night at Oracle Park. The Nationals’ record currently stands at 59-53. The Giants drop to 56-57.

Erick Fedde pitched a very strong six innings for Washington. Fedde allowed six hits and two strikeouts while pitching. Daniel Hudson allowed zero hits and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the top of the third, third baseman Anthony Rendon singled to center, Adam Eaton scored.

At the top of the fifth, Trea Turner scored on a balk, Soto to second on a balk, Eaton to third on a balk. Additionally, first baseman Matt Adams doubled to center, right fielder Adam Eaton scored, Soto to third.

Finally, at the top of the ninth, Anthony Rendon scored, Soto stole second.

With a win over the Giants, the Nationals play game two of the series tonight at 9:45pm. Pitching for the Nationals is Anibal Sanchez.
