Nationals beat D-backs 15-5: Recap 6/16/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 33-38. The D-backs drop to 33-38.

Anibal Sanchez pitched a very strong six innings for Washington. Sanchez allowed six hits and three strikeouts while pitching. Tanner Rainey allowed two hits and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the bottom of the first inning, Howie Kendrick singled to center, Eaton scored, Soto to second, Rendon to third. Also, in the bottom of the first, Kurt Suzuki singled to left, Rendon scored and Soto scored, Kendrick scored.

Furthermore, in the bottom of the second, right fielder Adam Eaton singled to right center, Turner scored.

At the bottom of the third inning, first baseman Matt Adams homered to right (399 feet), Soto scored and Kendrick scored.

In addition to, in the bottom of the fifth, catcher Kurt Suzuki homered to left (397 feet). Additionally, third baseman homered to left center (402 feet), Eaton scored.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, second baseman Howie Kendrick singled to right, Eaton scored, Soto to second, Rendon to third. In addition, Matt Adams homered to right (438 feet), Anthony Rendon scored, Soto and Kendrick scored.

With a win over the D-backs, the Nationals play a four game series with the Phillies starting tonight at 7:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Patrick Corbin.
