Nationals beat Braves 4-3: 6/21/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves on Friday evening at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 37-38. The Braves drop to 44-32.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a very strong six innings for Washington. Strasburg allowed five hits and five strikeouts while pitching. Tony Sipp allowed one hit and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Robles tripled to deep right center, Dozier scored. Also, in the bottom of the fourth, Michael A. Taylor sacrificed to pitcher, Robles scored. In addition, in the bottom of the fourth, catcher Yan Gomes homered to left (447 feet).

At the bottom of the fifth, third baseman Anthony Rendon singled to shallow left, Juan Soto scored.

With a win over the Braves, the Nationals play game two of the series this evening at 7:15pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Anibal Sanchez.
