Nathan Walker sent to the Bears

Nathan Walker made Washington’s opening night roster to start off the season. Nathan would sit out the season opener, but quickly make his debut in the NHL. Promptly Walker would score his first NHL goal. Walker, however, was unable to become a main role player in Barry Trotz’s lineup. He appeared in just seven, and was waived and claimed by the Edmonton Oilers.

Walker played in two games for the Oilers. He ended his stint in Edmonton with a -1, 2 penalty minutes and just two shots on goal. He was quickly waived, and then reclaimed by the team that drafted him, the Washington Capitals. Washington had to hold onto him until today December 28th, as the NHL roster freeze was in effect.

Nathan Walker has now officially been assigned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL. Walker registered 23 points (11g, 12a) in 58 games with the Hershey Bears of the AHL during the 2016-17 season.
