MSB staff Money in the Bank predictions

Following WrestleMania 35, the road to Money in the Bank has been very anticipated.

With the Superstar Shakeup over, the tension amongst fighters has never been higher.  With people like Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins going in to defend their titles they won at WrestleMania, it should be a good one.  Here are the MSB picks for Money in the Bank.

Cruiserweight Championship: Tony Nese (c) vs. Ariya Daivari

After defeating Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania, Tony Nese has proved himself to be a worthy champion.  Daivari has made a strong push as a heel recently on 205 Live and is looking to take the title from Nese.  Nese has made a name for himself on the 205 Live brand and I see a long title reign ahead of him.

Mike: Tony Nese

Chris: Tony Nese

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs. The Usos

After the Hardy Boyz were forced to vacate their titles, Shane McMahon was ready to give the titles to Bryan and Rowan, but the Usos challenged them for the titles.  Bryan and Rowan won, making them the SmackDown Live tag team champions.  The Usos, now on Raw, have challenged Bryan and Rowan once again, thanks to Mr. McMahon’s “Wild Card” rule.

Mike: Bryan and Rowan

Chris: Bryan and Rowan

Roman Reigns vs. Elias

Following the Superstar Shakeup and a brutal attack on Mr. McMahon by Reigns after becoming a member of the SmackDown brand, Elias looks to get back at Reigns for what he did.  Reigns is fighting in another non-title match since his return earlier this year.  This match will most likely end the same way Roman’s match at WrestleMania did.

Mike: Roman Reigns

Chris: Roman Reigns

The Miz vs. Shane McMahon (Steel Cage Match)

This feud between Miz and McMahon has been going on for a few months now.  Ever after getting sent to Raw, Shane still came to taunt Miz.  Miz challenged Shane to a Steel Cage Match looking to put him in his place once and for all after losing the Falls Count Anywhere match at WrestleMania in April.

Mike: The Miz

Chris: The Miz

United States Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio

Following his embarrassing performance at WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio has another shot at the United States title.  Samoa Joe even went as far to taunting Mysterio’s son Dominic a few weeks ago on Raw.  Mysterio is looking to win the only title he has never held in his time with the WWE.

Mike: Rey Mysterio

Chris: Rey Mysterio

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans

After becoming the first woman to hold both the SmackDown and Raw women’s titles, Becky Lynch is looking to defend both at Money in the Bank.  Up until recently, Lacey Evans has been a filler, walking out and going right back into the locker room.  It’s very interesting to see such a big push for her, but with all the obstacles Becky faced to get to this point, I see her holding the Raw belt for a while.

Mike: Becky Lynch

Chris: Lacey Evans

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

Once again Charlotte Flair is in the title picture.  This has become the same thing for every pay-per view for a while now and it’s getting old fast.  I don’t see Charlotte holding the title for long if she wins, but if she does, these next few months will be very boring.

Mike: Becky Lynch

Chris: Becky Lynch

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs Kevin Owens

After 11 years, Kofi was finally given a title shot and he had his WrestleMania moment.  After becoming an honorary member of the New Day, Kevin Owens quickly turned on Kofi and Xavier Woods.  Kevin Owens is one of the best heels in the WWE right now.  I see a heel becoming WWE Champion because I don’t think Seth will lose the title any time soon.  If KO doesn’t win, I see a heel from SmackDown winning the ladder match and cashing in on Kofi.

Mike: Kevin Owens

Chris: Kofi Kingston

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs AJ Styles

Similar to Charlotte Flair, AJ Styles has found himself with a shot at the title again just after coming to Raw.  Seth Rollins has proved himself as the best in the WWE right now.  It would blow my mind to see him lose the title before SummerSlam in August.

Mike: Seth Rollins

Chris: Seth Rollins

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Nikki Cross, Naomi, Natalya, Dana Brooke, Bayley, Mandy Rose, Ember Moon and Carmella

The third women’s money in the bank ladder match has some of the best in the business right now.  Some of these women have a huge push coming their way too.  Mandy Rose, Ember Moon, and Bayley are all due for a push.  I see Mandy and Sonya becoming the next tag team champs, but I would be happy if she won.  Ember Moon has just come to SmackDown and hasn’t had a push in a while, so it’d be nice to see her in the title picture.  Bayley is the most interesting one.  Following the loss of the tag team titles and Sasha Banks MIA, Bayley has come to SmackDown as a solo act.  I think she has the biggest push ahead of her.

Mike: Bayley

Chris: Mandy Rose

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, Ali, Andrade, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton

The men’s money in the bank ladder match also has some people that are due for a big push.  Drew McIntyre is the best pick, but I don’t see him winning.  The Universal Championship is held by the top people in the WWE.  While Drew McIntyre has proved himself worthy of that title, I don’t see WWE giving him the push he deserves.  They also won’t take the title from Rollins anytime soon.  I see the winner coming from SmackDown and cashing in on Kofi.  Whoever wins this match, should be a heel.  WWE needs a heel champion.

Mike: Randy Orton

Chris: Drew McIntyre
