Mount Saint Mary’s Torn Apart by the Ohio Bobcats 96-77

In what looked to be another tough matchup for the Mountaineers, would be exactly that, a tough matchup. The Mount was heading into Athens, Ohio on a two-game win streak, but they would leave with a loss. The Mount once again was carried by key-player Junior Robinson, who had twenty-one points and ten assists during the game. Another important contributor for the Mountaineers was once again, Jonah Antonio. Jonah added nineteen points and seven rebounds to the Mounts effort. Early in this season, the Mountaineers biggest struggle has been turnovers. In this game, they cut down on their turnovers, thirteen, but they struggled to create turnovers themselves. Ohio ended tonight’s game with only five turnovers, that is incredible. To the Mountaineers credit, they did not play that bad. As a team, they shot 50% from the field, and 34% from three. Tonight was the Mountaineers best shooting performance of the season, but they just could not get it done on the other end of the court. The Mount’s next matchup will be home against in-state foe Morgan State on 11/27. It should be a close contest, but I believe that the Mountaineers will be able to prevail in this matchup and move to 3-4 on the season.
